Natchez trace has been kicking my butt. Everywhere I go there has been trucks and every place I've scouted has had footprints and i haven't heard a gobble in days. I know there are still turkeys there because I see fresh gobbler sign but I imagine the pressure has them shut up. My new plan is to go to a completely new piece of TVA land that I deer hunted and is only accessible by boat. I've seen turkeys in the fall and I doubt they have ever seen a hunter. If that doesn't work I'm going to paddle around the Camden bottoms by boat and try and strike a bird. Maybe I'm too aggressive and need to hunt them like deer and forget trying to hear one, but I live for the gobble.

Take some lessons from Catman and go to some remote areas that are less accessible to the crowds. But, don't judge the lack of gobbling completely to the pressure. Some of that is simply tied to the time of year and hens. They will free up again and there will be fewer hunters. Remain diligent and patient.
