Dropped my boat off with them this morning to have the 4 filters changed. He gave me an estimate of $500 to do it. The HPDI motors have those 2 hidden filters in the block below the intake. He said it's 3 hours labor to change them. Sometimes I miss my river boat! The 4 filters are around $200 combined. I've never used Madisonville Marine but they seems like good guys. We will see.

Wow i will stick with my old school motors as long as I can,rich man motors would leave me with no $ for gas the rest of the year :o :o . I didn't know they had motors that required that kind of labor just for a routine service . Hope they do you a great job

I had no clue about the hidden filters either when I bought it. I've read where people change them every 200 hours. The original owner said he had just had a full service when I bought it a little over 2 years ago so I figured it was time to make sure... you never know if people are really honest. I'm not sure of the hours on the motor. I asked them to check them and let me know. I'd imagine I'm in the 300 range if the place I bought it from was honest about the hours when I bought it. The way the lied to me about another issue I don't know. When I bought it they told me the engine warranty was until July 2015. Found out yesterday it ran out months ago.

The total for the job was estimated at $500... kinda confusing about with the 2 amounts I guess.

Yes. Worse mistake I've made. I've bought 2 new boats from Bunch without any issues. Great guys and service. They had one very similar to what I bought when I was looking and decided to go a little closer to home. Wish every day I had bought from them again. You live and you learn I guess. This filter change I worked into the deal when I bought the boat originally. It's supposed to be free of charge in Morristown. I opted to take it to Madisonville and pay them than to deal with Morristown again. The $500 is worth it not to have to look at them or trust their business to touch my boat. It would be my luck I'd get out of line and get arrested for disorderly conduct or something.

They must have really pissed you off to give up that $500. I don't blame you though......I would have probably done the same thing. Did you discuss the issue any further of the lie on the warranty not being good to the date you were told? I am assuming you did. Did Sam not even offer to take care of the error (or possible blatant lie) and hook you up with an additional year's worth of warranty? That would have been the honorable thing to do if it did happen to be a mistake on their part. I hate to hear that. Good dealerships are few and far between anymore.......especially with a good, reputable mechanic. I had heard that Ty had left there due to some shady things going on and going into business for himself.

I'm not having any motor issues. Madisonville printed off a sheet to show me the warranty info, that's the only way I found out. When I bought the boat it had brake issues. A couple checks by them showed no probelms. I had another mechanic check it and he found the issue right away. The axle was broken. It was like that from day one and I still paid for it to be fixed... they did the labor. The torsion axle wasn't letting any weight on the ground so the brakes were locking up. A one week fix turned into 3 weeks. They told me since it was raining they wouldn't work on it! I all but lost it. When their mechanic bad mouthed them and talked about how crooked Sam was, i said never again. When your employees talk like that there is no telling what else goes on that they don't know about.

Dang......you have every right to be frustrated with all of that going on. Like I said earlier.....good, honest dealerships are few and far between anymore. If you ever need the name of a good, reliable mechinic in the future IM me and I will give you his info. He is only about 5 miles from there and he is honest and fair with his rates. He will not be able to help you with any warranty issues while you are under that umbrella, but is who I would recommend after that point.

Yeah. I could add more about some other stuff but I'll leave it out. I get ticked off just thinking about it. No use rubbing salt on it. In the end I love my boat just dislike the dealer.

the place i bought my boat went out of business. i needed some work done and called madisonville marine and set up an appointment. the shop foreman acted like he didn't want to work on it since i didn't buy it there. on the way home thinking about it,i got madder and madder then turned around and retrieved my boat.

They called me this afternoon to say my boat was ready. $541 is what he said. Depending on the weather I'll probably go get it tomorrow.
