i got it all to work! seems to be solid and set in there good we will see when i go out and shoot some 3.5's. I HOPE i didn't tighten the nut for the stock down to tight and cracked the insert as i heard a weird pop from it but when i took it off it seems to be fine so i hope it was just the stock settling in on the base which was TIGHT to get on the first time

Did you put the sling mount in the stock? If so what did it take? Id like to do the same on mine

Yeah I added it in. I just got a stud from the gunsmith and drilled it then screwed it in. I added a nut on the inside to reinforce it. You can get the studs on eBay for like $2

Awesome, and mine has been sturdy even through multiple events which should have ripped it off. My sight hasn't been off one time since putting it on the gun and that covers two seasons. Glad I could help, and sort of glad some one other than me got the panic attack when they went to install it the first time. :)

Haha yeah man I feel like I went through a bipolar episode. I was excited then pissed then nervous then excited again haha

Hey REN, did you get Rob Roberts to work your gun? Also, did he lengthen the forcing cone (if he did work your gun)? I'm considering sending my barrel to him and having him lengthen that bad boy, I wanted a good opinion first.

Nevermind, I read the sticker. Did he lengthen the cone on it?

Yes and he ported it and did some trigger work to it. I didn't have a before pattern but it shot like a dream this dove and duck season!

Was there a reason for goin with the speedbead instead of the 336 mount? When I had my sbe I just had an extra hole drilled in my 336 base to match the benelli holes. Worked good and sits about as low as it can.

Yeah I will use it for everything and it was easier to just take off the steadygip and speedbead then to have to remove the entire base off the receiver each year

Once I get it sighted In I will use a laser bore site and make the target. The next year when I switch back the stocks I will just check it with the bore site target from the previous year which should get me back to very close.
