Does anyone have a Ruger M77/44 mag? Ive wanted one for several years now and finally am in a position to buy one. It would be a great woods gun. And a 44 mag in a rifle would be low recoil so my daughter would be
able to shoot it.

I only got the cash for one rifle and im kicking around the idea of getting a AR for a just in case a SHTF scenario did happen. I have always had one but i I never shot it at all.I sold it back in thw summer. But not haveing one makes me feel like Im going to be caught with my pants down.

Did own one of those, pretty cool rifle, low recoil but very effective for 100 yd and below.Agreed would be good rifle for child/small person only thing to keep in mind, stock is still made for an adult, length of pull, but as far as it and an AR I would say get the one you think you would use the most ,if you owned AR and got rid of it for some reason you will probably not keep it this time either.

Hey Cecil how about looking at a marlin 1894 in 44 magnum. They hold 10 or 11 cartridges and will flat kill a deer. They are very small especially in a carbine model. I think in a shtf a good lever 44 paired with a good pistol would be a deadly combo.

I have never shot one but I have handled the m77/44 mag and they are sweet little guns. They seem like the perfect little woods rifle. Another one you might consider is ruger's gunsite scout rifle.
