I have a M70 Classic Featherweight 270 WSM that is mint..made in the last year before they quit production..

it is a Featherweight but the bbl action seems at least as heavy as the Classic Sporter if not heavier.

question is what is a good stock to replace the wood to work up a load and shoot it some,,

would like a decently wide forend and an aluminum bedding block.

The WSM line of M70's, Featherweights and Classic Sporters, have the same barrel. The only difference is the stock. My experience with aftermarket stocks is slim. I just have McMillan aftermarket stocks.

You may want to look at getting a Coyote Lite factory stock. They have a wide forend, but not sure of an aluminum beedding block.

I saw a Houge overmold with full length bedding block for the Classic Sporter,,I did not know if it would work for the FW,,looked to be about what I want,,it was 260$

I refuse to bang this factory stock up..

is the coyote lite the same bbl contour as the FW,,I could bed it but would rather have the block.

I was doing some reading and it appears to me that the Coyote Lite stock has a skeletonized aluminum bedding block.

The coyote has a different barrel contour than the featherweight or sporter. The Hogue isnt a bad stock.
