We switched to the Lucky Duck brand spinners this year.
Overall I like them a lot better than mojo.
Instead of the feet that break off as soon as you look at them they have an orange elastic band that I guess serves as the foot color and it also holds the decoy on the T post very well.
Seem to be a lot tougher than mojo's too.
How long they last I dunno but we will see.
Anyway, my son and a buddy were putting them out opening morning and when they put my drake out they noticed "something" in the backpack but wasn't sure what it was or where it went so they just left it in the bag.
They went on and put the rest out and everything went good.
We used the remotes to turn them all off after we hunted and when they got to mine to pick it up the right wing was gone. :(
It appears that "something" was the little magnet that was in the end of the wing that holds the wing on the decoy by connecting with another magnet that is in the coupling of the decoy.
Guess the torque of it running kept the wing in place and when we turned it off the wind blew it off.
They actually have a little circle of Styrofoam looking stuff on the back of the wing that make it float instead of sinking like a rock. Another upgrade from the mojo's. However we didn't notice it was gone and I guess the wind took it to parts unknown.
Since we learned that we paid more attention and one of my buddy's did the same thing but luckily we saw it before we lost his wing.
I dug the magnet out of the decoy and put a couple drops of super glue on it and stuck it back in the wing, problem solved.
They come with two types of wings apparently.
Mine were the corrugated type just like the mojo brand. The other one, that was purchased separately, has a hard plastic or pvc type wing.
Three of us bought a two pack that came with a drake, Susie, two remotes and a backpack to haul them in. VERY nice too, I was surprised.
The other one was just a single drake. It has the different wings.
Those are the only kind I can find locally and they are $30.00 for a set.
I am gonna contact Lucky Duck today and just give them the low down. Maybe they will feel sorry for me and send me a free set. ;)
