LSUs #1 rated recruit in 2023 is now a Vol.

5* OT Lance Heard #3 rated tackle in the 2023 class. Played in 12 games for LSU last year as a true freshman.

Looks like the vols will have a 5* LT protecting the blindside of a 5* QB the next couple years.

Is it official yet? Saw where his name was in the student directory but the article I read says that just means he's been accepted. Sure hope it's true. Will offset losing Mincey.

His been accepted as a student, and is enrolling in classes at UT from what I understand.it's not a binding scholarship agreement at this moment.

From what I've seen John Campbell (vols LT) has stated he would more to RT to let Heard play LT. It seems like Campbell, Mincey, and the coaching staff was butting heads on who will start at LT which was a big part of Mincey leaving.

Other Vol Oline News Dayne Davis who has played in 39 games at UT said he will return as a RS senior.
