Got a new Traditions Evolution LD, fluted and ported barrel in .45 caliber. Killed that little 4 point with it on opening day shooting a 200 gr. Thompson Center shockwave bullet in front of 100 gr. of Pyrodex using Winchester 209 primers. Never had a gun with a ported barrel before, loud as a howitzer but no recoil to speak of. The bullet and powder combo seem to be perfect. The deer I shot was about 60 yards away angling toward me, bullet entered just behind the front shoulder and exited in front of rear leg. Turned his insides into jelly. I'm tickled with it.
