Not Alabama but crimson clover. Just love seeing that big bright red mat! I look forward to it topping every year...I thought I'd share since I was in there today spraying some fruit trees.

My food plots look exactly like that. The best they've looked ever. Solid carpets of knee-high crimson blooms and wheat (at least, the wheat the turkey haven't eaten yet).

Now if I could just reduce the grass growth in the summer...

How did you prepare the field ?Did you drill it in or just braodcast it and drag it in ?Thats a good lookin field!!!!!
 
Limed it in the spring, disced it in sept, dragged it even, broadcasted the clover with oats and brassicas right before a good rain, fertilized when greened up. I always use roughly 30% to 40% more clover seed than what's recommended for the acreage
