Looking for old scope

Looking for early 1960s vintage rifle scope:
I took a chance and bought a .30-06 Remington M700 ADL this weekend. Covered in filth, dark bore. The factory stock finish had seen better days. Scope had a lot of water vapor in it. I was thinking of using it as a donor rifle for a project.
Cleaning it up today, the metal turned out to be near flawless. After much scrubbing and copper removal, the bore is mirror. I encountered an unusual 2-part sear and called Remington and was told the barrel was made in Nov 1964, and the receiver in 1965!
So no project rifle as I am going to turn it back into the original configuration.

I would like to find a vintage Weaver, Leupold or similar scope to go on this rifle. From research, I found the Weaver K6 is probably what would go best, but open to other ideas. Anyone have one sitting in a parts box?

I did this a couple years back with a Remington 721 in 30-06 I found at a pawn shop. I bought an older Redfield to put on it so that it would look period correct. It looked great.

The big problem I had was that I was not happy at all with the optics or eye relief and therefore realized I would never use it. I replaced it with a newer model Leupold Gloss scope that still did not look totally out of place but gave me the brighter optics and eye relief I was looking for.

Good point about older glass.
I plan on just restoring this rifle and then putting it away. Kind of a time capsule.
I'm only into it for a total of $185.

I've got an old "K-Mart" brand 4X fixed scope that my papaw put on his savage 99 to hunt in TX back in the early 60's. I used that scope and gun to kill my first 2 deer with 6 yrs ago. I don't know who made it for K-Mart but it's a decent old scope. The gun now carries a Nikon Monarch and I'm sure Papaw wouldn't mind his scope setting on a classic gun.

I have an old scope but we are talking mid-80's. 1965-era I was graduating high school and my first real job paid $1.25 an hour. I seem to recall most scopes were 4x. I couldn't afford to breathe deep but I spent a lot of time in the LGS. Good luck with this build, pictures are always nice.

I may have a 6x zf Kahles scope that I believe that was made during that time period . I will have to check . I got good patina on it but is fully functional
