Looking for a couple load recipes for 22-250

I have never loaded 22-250 before but I plan to here soon. Picked up dies and everything today. I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in sharing your recipes?

I shoot a Remington 700 SPS Varmint. 26 inch bull barrel 1/14 twist rate.

I usually load A-Max or Match Kings but would like to experiment on this one a little bit. Any help would be appreciated.

I shoot 50 gr Ballistic Tips and 36.0 gr. of IMR 8208XBR. Pert near 4000 fps in my 700.

I have had the worst luck with Varget in most all my varmint calibers. Don't know why, everyone else seems to love it.

In the name of consolidation, varget and 55 gr pills are the order of the day for me. ;)

First off, although I have a few bullet types for varmints, there are no fields full of squirrel-like animals around Tennessee

With the 1/14 twist you won't have much luck with bullets heavier than 60 grains. Maybe a 62, maybe a 64 will fly but be watchful for keyholing.

I have a 700 Police 308 I have been thinking about a 7 twist 22-250 barrel for,,a 75 AMax at 3500+ fps would have to be fun to shoot,,

the only one I actually loaded for liked the 55NBT and 4064,

Thank you for the info fellas. I have picked up some RL15 and I have a couple IMR powders that you guys mentioned. Hopefully pull the handle on a few tomm and will post pics. I really appreciate the info guys. Thanks.

I have a 1:12 twist and absolutely had no luck with the 64 gr. Bsb. I got some sierra 55 gr. Varminters to shoot great but I want a tougher bullet.

the 60 Partition should work in a 12

The 64g PP AND 63g SMP work in my 1/14 22-250 at least to 100 yds-never shot it any farther with those bullets. I have a 233 yd range but only shot the 52MK at that distance.

The 60 grain Nosler Partitions stabilize in the standard 1/14 twist 22-250. I will say I had some troubles getting the correct COL. The Superformance powder does indeed provide the extra 200 FPS but I had to play with the COL quite a bit.

RL15 was a bit easier to work with and close to same performance.

Shooters Pro Shop has Nosler 60 grain partitions (seconds) on sale right now along with quite a few other calibers.
