I sur wish that was in front of my beach house.
 
That boat has been uncovered in 2004, 2008, and now in 2012. It has been uncovered by a hurricane whose name started with an "I" each time, and it has happened at about the same time of the year each time.

It is believed to be a steam powered blockade runner from the civil war.

Sand being washed away is mind boggling. I can tell you about a story when the storm hit Virginia last year. I was big into water metal detecting last year...looking for jewelry and such. Well I got big into reading the forums and watching YouTube videos from people that were really good at it, and after the storm hit, one of the guys was showing what it did to the beach he hunts. I had saw the beach on all his other hunts...and if I'm not mistaken, he said the storm had taken about 8 to 15 feet of sand away. They were metal detecting that area there....and here is what got me: they were just finding coins from the 1950s that had sank over 8 FEET deep. He actually recovered a naval academy ring with the guy's name on it...sort of like a class ring. It had a date from the 1940s on it if I'm not mistaken. Well it looked like it had just been lost a few days earlier...and he was able to get records on the guy and he was still living. He called him up and made sure it was the right guy...and then told him he'd found his ring. He was expecting to hear the man say that he had just got back from vacation a week ago and had lost it...instead, he had lost it within days of getting the ring...and there it had been on that beach for that long, finally exposed after the storm moved all that sand out of the way.
