........with a video camera, that is. ;)

Shot a short video clip of a small button buck ( knothead) :D last week while hunting over persimmons. Thought maybe mama doe would be right behind but she never showed up.
Bluegrass Dan's post just reminded me, so I thought I'd post up the video..

I just can't bring myself to shoot a nubbin. I've done it by mistake in the past and it made me feel horrible afterwards. Softie? Maybe. But that's just the way I roll, I guess.

Shot one last year opening day of muzzleloader with my Savage smokeless at 110 yards. At that distance I couldn't tell, but I wish I hadn't.

(Although, those backstraps were might fine on the grill!)

Nice video.

And you are a softie! :D

I shot 2 poults thinking they were hens and felt kind of bad, but got over it pretty quick. One was a baby jake and one a baby hen. Yeah he would have been a gobbler if he made it, but there are lots more birds out there.

But I wouldn't intentionally shoot a button buck, or a poult either. If it happens by accident, oh well, at least I got some tender meat.
