Longrange shooting book?

Any recommendations? Need something to read for the next beach trip? Primarily focused on long range shooting for hunting purposes not competitively. Although I'm sure principles apply.

I can recommend a book, but it's nothing to do with shooting or hunting.

I've never read a Stephen King novel but he wrote a book called something like 11/23/63. I've not been this intrigued by a book in a very, very long time.

Take a look @ The Ultimate Sniper. Best shooting book I have read. Very readable, not so full of technical writing that it looses you in the mix. Very applicable info for hunting despite focusing more on the military/police end of shooting.

Shoot the National Match Course for a season. The fundamentals of marksmanship are the fundamentals of marksmanship. Honestly, the single "make or break" skill for long range marksmanship is wind doping and that's a perishable skill that comes only through practice. I remember one time pulling targets at the NRA Regionals at Oak Ridge and you could tell the newer USAMU shooters at 600. Their hits would drift left and right, but the elevation would be easily holding the 10 ring on the NRA MR target, and that with iron sighted AR-15s.
