I am seriously considering a straight 10X the Sightron with its enhance mil dot reticle and 150 MOA of adjustments is looking good,,as is the Mark 4 Leupold,,

I have shot a little the last few days with a 3.5-10 and at 1000-1200 I dont feel like I need more scope,,

anybody been to a mile with 10X,,,
 
I really like the simplicity of the straight power scope,,and the Sightron has everything I need at a good price,,they make a good lookin 16X also,,

I will change my mind 100 times by the time I get the money,,sending the 3.5-10 back to Leupold for M1 Knobs and the TMR reticle is not out yet either,,it just doesnt have enough adjustment to make a mile
 
I have a 20 MOA base and the Burris Rings have a 15 MOA taper for a total of 35 MOA ,,I am zeroed at 300 and have 35 MOA left in elevation,,to go where I want with this scope I would have to start with a 400 yard zero with enough taper in the mounts to be in the bottom 8-10 clix at 400 yards,,

I dont like that possibility,,but it is gonna have to work for a month or so,,
 
the M1 knobs are like 60% each,,I havent quoted the reticle but I would guess around a 100,,

that 220 would make a good start on the Sightron 10X or the 3-15 Weaver Tacticle,,

the Sightron has 150 MOA adjustments and the Weaver is set up Mil/Mil and has nearly 30 mils adjustment,,if I had the cash today I would go with the weaver,,it is even first focal plane,,and illumanated 1/2 Mil hash reticle,

the 2 what I consider really nice scopes i can vouch for are the weaver and a swfa ss 5-20. I forget how much adjustment they have.
I like the edmr reticle in the weaver more. The very center of the cross hair is open so the u can see what you're aiming at instead of the cross hairs covering it. Probably have to Google a pic to see what I'm blabbing about.
If the center of the swfa reticle were open it would make precision work a bit easier but of course other than that I like the swfa 5-20 more.

Both have always tracked well.

Then the cheaper fixed 6x swfa ss has been cranked all over the place and has tracked great also. Takes about 55 moa to get to 300yd on the 22lr.
 
I really like the specs of the Weaver,,the reticle is awesome combined with the .1 MRAD adjustments,,it is one full mill from center of reticle to first dot,,then the dots are One Mil apart with a hash mark between the dots that are .5 Mils,,that combined with the first focal plane and,ia a lot of op notch features in a 700$ scope,,

how is the glass on the Weaver,,it is real high on my short list,,the 3-15X power range is ideal IMO for a Long Range tactical rifle
 
For the price I don't think the weaver can be beat. I know first hand its better than the vortex pst 6-24 but that's the only comparison in the price range I can comment on.

I have a 6.5-20 on my mag and at 1000 yards I wish I had more. But then again you can go to big. My uncle has a Nightforce on his 6dasher and he never uses above 36x but the weather has to be right to use that much power. I would have aleast 20x.
 
At Sniper Central, the bushnell 3200 10x tactical is kind of the beginners scope so obviously they think 10x is enough.
 
I am broke for a while now,,I am gonna order the Stoney Point target knobs for the 3.5-10 and shoot it as is until I can afford what I really want,,I am not gonna waste any monies on anything less,

and besides it shoots very well the way it sits,I might surprise some guys set up with Nightforce scopes before I change scopes,, heck I already know I can bang MOA size gongs to 1050 with quiet a bit of regularity
