45ish is about as far as i will shoot at one...thats just me though.

however i have witnessed a 1 shot 2 flop kill at 65-70yds.

I've killed one at 63 steps before. I had to literally chase him down and finish him off with a choke hold though ! Don't shoot that far anymore, i dont want to shoot past 45 yds now.

84 steps, a shot im not proud of. Wide open pasture I estimated around 55 yds. Once i shot my buddy comes unglued asking what I was shooting at. I said the turkey was leaving so i shot. He couldnt believe what I had done, he ask how far do you think that bird was, I say 55 or so steps, he says a hundred steps. We step it off at 84 steps. I was not use to hunting open pasture. My shots are normally in thick woods with in 30 yds. In the wide open it looked much closer.

Same situation for me, I was shooting down a logging road and I thought mine was around 45-50 yds.

One reason I like the "turkey" scope I'm using is that it's also somewhat of a simple rangefinder. It's not as as accurate as a laser, but it will keep me from mistaking 50 yards for 40 yards.

Not over 25 for me. Just not into "sky-busting", I mean, "dirt-busting".

Same goes for me, the fun FOR ME is calling a bird to me and getting personal with them, sniping them isn't why I play the game. I have deer season to take care of that.
