Lok Tite??

Do you guys use Lok Tite on your rings and bases? If so, what type do you use? thanks

i always use a little green or blue. Don't use red.

I have never used it but there is something called Gun Tite that is manufactured by Lock Tite and designed for scopes. You may do a little research and see if it is what you are looking for. Sounds like it is a weaker version of the blue lock tite.

I use purple 222! I aslo use rosin inside the rings to help the rings grip the scope. I lap all rings to ensure at least eighty percent contact. In twenty years I have never had a scope lose zero when using purple loctite, powdered rosin, and laps.

Good advice above. I lap my rings and just use the blue loctite on the bases.

the torque for screws changes when its wet,less is needed if some type of liqued is used,seen a fellar shooting a ultra mag & said it had broken the mount bolts off 3 times with 3 diffrent set of rings,i would about bet they were over tightened,been using nothing for years & no problems,mike243
