Well the logging trucks rolled into our lease on Monday. We talked to the boss and he told us that they would be leaving 15 to 20 nut trees per acre. I went and took a look at the area yesterday and it looks like they are leaving more trees then we thought.

They did leave a couple of trees that I know were pretty good producers the last 2 seasons and some underbrush. I've never really hunted clear cut property much in the past. Anyone have suggestion as to the best way to plan on hunting it?

We will be using their skid yards as food plots as soon as they pull out of them.

Just have to scout it,see how they are using the area, browse will grow like crazy, and it should create cover.Should improve hunting.May not be "pretty"to you,but the deer will like it.

it will look bad the first year but after that it will look great.
we need to do some selective cutting on our property just hate to do it
