Looking for recommendations on a local smith for the following projects:

-Cerakote a shotgun, rifle action, and possibly another shotgun
-re-barrel project listed on another thread of above action
-change firing pin springs in an O/U as listed in another thread
-possibly a few other minor projects I just don't want to screw with

Memphis area...North MS or West TN considered of course. Need good, reliable, affordable, timely work. Who do you recommend?

I hope TiminTN sees this and chimes in, as I trust Tim without reservation.

If it were me, I would send it to Southern Cerakote outside of Jackson. They do great Cerakote work and also have a great reputation as a smith. I just recently sent them a rifle for cerakoting and had it back withing 8 days.

I wouldn't use the guy at Poplar and Kirby if you paid me.

What he said. It's worth a drive to the Henderson area. I've got a few projects that need Kent's attention.

Same here
Mr Colley at guns and ammo on summer has rebarrelled about a dozen rifles for me and I have been pleased with his work and his prices

So how does Southern Cerakote pricing run? That is close to my FIL's and is an easy hand-off, IF they have a storefront. Do they?

They have a store front.

I had a barreled action, bolt and two sets of bottom metal cerakoted in one color for $220. Not the cheapest but pretty good and excellent work.

I would call WMC Guns in Humbolt TN, and ask for Franks phone number, he is the smith there and factory authorized for many top brands, does great work and has good turn times.

Frank Elliot 731-784-5746, but I don't think they do cerakote.

I've used Kent at Southern Cerakote twice and was very happy with the cerakote jobs he did for me.
