Missouri opened up this week also. With the weather front I had to make a run back to Missouri. It was 42 degrees when I got out of the truck this morning!

Im kinda of jealous of you saddle hunters! I wanted to get into it this year and never bought the equipment, was hoping to find someone close to me here in MO with everything to give me a test run and some do's and dont's.....I did run across a guy that is about 30 minutes from me but then things got busy again with work and here we are!!
I have watched tons of videos and read a lot, Its the fact that I have a bad back with rods/hardware and I am afraid I will have a hard time and don't want to waste a bunch of $$$.

Good luck this season to all!

If it's any help, my back feels perfect after a few hours in a saddle. Whenever I use a hang on or ladder stand, the old sore back comes back almost immediately. Try a sit drag. They're only $30 on Amazon. That's how I got in. Just know those are only rated for a few feet off the ground. To go up high you'd need to pair it with a rock climbing harness. But it's just a way to try it.

most people with back problems say the saddle is a lot better than sitting in a stand. It's definitely worth trying out if you can find someone in your area. Or if you do buy a setup, the resale value is pretty good if you decide you don't like it.

X-tenn, what part of Missouri are you in? I will be up around Farmington for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are near we can find somewhere for you to sit in mine a see what you think.

It's been quiet so far here in Loudon Co. From what I witnessed at work this week deer have been more active around mid day.

Sitting in a oak flat near a group of white oaks between two ponds. Grown up woods and fields to the north and beans on all other sides.

That sounds like a fine spot for this time of year if there ever was one. Nothing but squirrels for me this morning.

Sitting on oaks that are dropping and a good fresh rub line coming from bedding.

Seen 7 total 1 small four point and doe. Not gonna lie I have missed twice today. Got down went home and re sighted this thing in. Not a fan of this red dot in low light. In the end it's just excuses but love and learn. This is my first go at early season crossbow. So far loving it just need to connect on one.
