Little Pigeon

I had the day off, so my boss and I decided to fish the Little Pigeon today. I didnt know what to expect since the sewage spill, but I am happy to report that I saw no ill effects, and neither did the fish. We ended up fishing from 8:30-1:45 and caught 30 smallies and 1 redeye. Biggest was 19", and we had at least 10 fish that were 16+ inches. They were pulling hard today. All fish were caught on rootbeer Zoom Fat Alberts.

Man I love catching those stream and river smallmouth. They are totally different beasts compared to lake smallmouths.

Love that river. We used to catch some great fish back in the early 90's. It was always weird though because there were always warning signs about contact with the river and e coli. That never stopped me though.

My Dad and me used to go a few years back all the time, might have to try it again soon! I watched a friend pull a 5 lb out in late May behind the fairgrounds about 3 years ago.
