What type of flashlight do you utilize walking to the stand before first light? I usually like to go without any but this morning I was making so much noise walking over fallen limbs (I couldn't see) that I pulled out the Streamlight for the last 150 yds or so.

Any research on animals' ability to see certain lights?

I got a head lamp that has 3 white settings up to 106 lumens, and a red and a blue setting. Usually on red in the woods unless I need extra light, then I use the lowest white setting.

white led light when there is no moon but when we have moon light i use a one bulb led red light

Green orange and red colors show up to deer as shades of gray. I would think the intensity of the light would matter more than anything.

I have a headlamp with 4 modes; red, green, white and flashing white. I use the red which is the dimmest. I try to NOT use it but usually I will use the red when walking in the woods in the dark to keep from making too much racket and for safety.
