Had a kayak tournament this morning on chickamauga. A couple hours into the tournament I began to fish the head of a slough dragging a big worm. As I was dragging it along the mouth of the slough I get a hard bite and set the hook. Almost immediately my reel started peeling off drag quickly towards the deep. I knew it was big and was praying it was a bass. After about a minute in I knew It wasn't because it never surfaced...After about 30 minutes of listening to whining drag and being towed all the way to the back of a 400yrd slough the fish finally surfaced. It was a monster blue cat. Luckily my brother was fishing the tournament too so he came over and helped me get her to the bank. We put her on my weigher and it said 30lb 4oz. Caught her on 10lb fluorocarbon on spinning gear. Biggest Cat I've caught to date. Managed to put together a decent limit of bass and tied for 4th also.
