there is a space for hunter safety class date. i took it twice in grade school in the 70's and have no clue of the dates. is this required? being an old guy, i am exempt from hunter safety requirements.

I don't think it is required, but if it is documented they add it to the license for proof of meeting the requirements. If you were before the 1969, it isn't needed for you for TWRA hunts. But, it is my understanding that Ft. Campbell may require it for all hunters now.
Give our HS folks a call at 615-781-6538 to see if you are in their records. Some of the early classes unfortunately are hit and miss as far as the records go. I'd wait until next week as I don't know if they will be in tomorrow or off on leave.

There are at least some draw hunts that require regardless of age.
