Who is using the HSS life lines or who has made there own? At 40 bucks I am having a herd time finding the stuff to make it for that, but just from the pictures the stuff I am pricing is much larger then the HSS stuff. For anyone that has HSS what size it the main line? And if you have made them what size rope did you use? May have been covered before but I couldn't find anything on it.
 
Made my own, and then recently bought one from wal mart, think that one is a "big game" branded lifeline that was a bit more reasonably priced.

It has been several years since I made one, size of the rope is not as important as the working weight and you want a weatherproof rope. Can find prusik knot rope online and on ebay.
 
More looking and looks like about all the major manufactures of harness's are making the life lines. Think I just gonna buy the Muddy ones. Same reflective material in rope as HSS but about 10 bucks less each.
 
I just bought about 200' of 3/8" double braided nylon rope to make up a bunch off of ebay. I can make up 8-9 lifelines for the price of 3 for their current retail price.

If you left it up all year it's a good chance a squirrel gnawed on it and something else drug it off. :)
