So, we're sitting at the table eating. My wife is talking about cooking with her friend and the friend's 10 year old son says "imitation vanilla comes from a beaver's butt."
I look at my wife. She looks at me and bursts out laughing because she knows I don't like the after taste of real vanilla, so I use imitation vanilla in my home made ice cream. Apparently, she has known imitation vanilla comes from beaver butt for years. Ruined my day...I have a container of beaver butt ice cream still in the freezer from earlier this week and don't know if I can bring myself to eat it now.

Buyer beware!

A side note: now I'm wondering what would happen if I pour a bottle of imitation vanilla all over where the beaver go in and out of the water to their dam in the bottoms. Will it chase them out of the area or will they just come out and look for a mate or a male to fight with? Either way is a win because I'll be there waiting with a shotgun because they've ruined my homemade ice cream!

Time to pay up and buy some actual vanilla beans.

Yes, I checked mine, the beaver butt isn't in it.
WAIT, they hide it by calling it "natural flavoring"!!!!
Crap!
