Good hunt for the second weekend after the opener Monday...

We got there about 4pm Saturday and by 7:30pm the doves had quit flying. I come up 1 short of a 15 limit and my brother had a bag of 10. Not bad for few hours of shooting. My boy was my bird dog... :laugh: he is 6yr old and had a blast. He was actually calling birds for me and he did not loose a single bird (I had to help him with one :wink: ). Good Times!! Great Times!! Doesn't get better than taking your kids hunting!

TWRA officer was great...talked alot about different stuff and put up with my questions :laugh: He was great with kids too. Gave my boy and my nephew a TWRA T-shirt!! They thought that was really :cool: ...As did I!

Went fishing that morning on Douglas with no luck but it was with my dad and brother...Still great to get out on the water! Had a great time...

Kyle Busch spun himself out and wrecked!!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Good Job Stalker, you did better than I, I got there around 2:30 and left with 10 or so with a couple or five lost in the high grass. Did you see the guy shoot at the ducks across the fence? The game warden should have written a ticket to that guy right there on the spot! It was definately more comfortable out there this weekend than it was last.
 
Yeah, I saw the duck shooter...I sure thought the officer would have issued a citation for it as well. But mostly those types of incidents are left to the officers discretion. If he had thought the shot was intentional I'm sure he would have written a citation, probably just chalked it up to un-intentional. However, that makes me uneasy that a guy would pull the trigger with out being sure of his target...I could understand shouldering a gun at a duck but not pulling the trigger.
 
You guys talking about the lick creek WMA at big Sandy. If so I didn't know they did a dove hunt there. My pops has a Cabin right down the road there. Lick Creek is where our duck blinds are.
