Leupold Var x 2, or Zeiss conquest

Cant decide, either the Leupold Varx2 3x9 x50 matte or a Zeiss conquest 3x9x40 matte for my Encore 243. I have one Leupold on my 7mm, and love it, but was wondering about the Zeiss, both close in price. Opinions please. Thanks

I was thinking people were buying conquest scopes just because they had zeiss wrote on them until I bought one. I have both a conquest and a var x 2.I think the zeiss is the best deal going.

Zeiss or the Minox ZA3 3-9x40. The Minox is awesome optically, same if not better than the Conquest, and is lighter than both. Price is the same as the Conquest.

IMO i think they're close in quality.The conquest is zeiss' entry level scope. I'm not saying it's not a good scope for the money,it is. But if you have a Leupold and like it i'd get another one

teh vx3 is about 80 dollars more expensive than the zeiss. they are both great scopes, but the vx3 is much more refined in appearance and lighter.

The VX3 is lighter and may look more appealing to some, but for what you get, the Conquest is far superior functionally. The Conquest has a constant eye relief throughout the power range whereas the VX3 you have to adjust your cheekweld to the stock as you zoom in or out. The Conquest has etched reticles whereas the VX3 has wire reticles and Leupold upcharges $100 to $200 for etched reticles. The glass in the Conquest is from Schott (the same exact glass that is in the Victory), whereas the Leupold uses glass from Japan and Europe. You don't know what type of glass you will have. Both are great scopes as stated by redblood, but you get more for your money with the Conquest. I also like the fact that the Conquest is assembled in the USA and their warranty is just as good as Leupolds who set the bar for warranties.
