My VX-I is extremely tough to adjust the power ring. If it's anywhere near freezing temp I need two hands to do it. Leupold says to send it in for repair.

One of you out there said you eventually loosened it up by working it back and forth. Anyone else experience this?

I'd think it would have loosened up some in two years, but I seldom change the power setting. I hate to send it to the facotry when all it needs is some breaking in.

The VXII that I bought last year had an exceedingly tight power ring and tightened up more when cold like you said. When cold it took both hands to grip the scope and turn the ring. I thought about sending the scope back but decided to do like you say and wear-in the power ring. Two or three times I sat down and turned the power selector rings back and forth maybe a hundred times. It was tight and hard on the hands and I used a rag to grip the ring tighter. It loosened up considerably and I didn't have to send it back to the factory.

I sent a VXII in to Leupold after a couple years wrasslin with it. To me it was worth the trouble of taking it off, mailing it in, and re-sighting the rifle. Hated that stiff power ring.
