Just ordered one of the heavy barrels for the mosin nagant from classic arms over in NC. This should be a fun winter project.

About half way down is the barrel. Came off a machine gun and reprofiled for the nagant. I have seen good results from this. I plan on doing a Savage style barrel nut. Turning the barrel down a bit with a mild taper. Add some barrel flutes and a muzzle brake. Should turn my $70 mosin nagant into a $95 3moa boat anchor. LOL. In all seriousness it should be a fun little project and it scratches my itch for a new gun nicely.

Would have been. That was an odd barrel too. be hard to find again. Have to keep an eye on gunbroker. Im sure people bought them that will never use them. Need to pick up as shotgun news and see what I can find.
