Let’s talk rings and bases

What is the difference in "high end" rings and bases vs others? Is it the machine work and tolerance? Can a cheap set ruin your scope? What moves on a lower end set up to throw accuracy or is it distortion of the scope tube from the rings not being round?

I like one piece mounts and rings ... Just less to go wrong... IMO the one piece mounts are more true and USUALLY do not need lapping
