I shared the pic with a Friend of mine and he seems too think the point isn't a Lerma…
He thinks it's closer too a Cobbs Triangle.

He's basing his opinion on the shape of the base.
He says a Lerma has more of a tapered base..

Im sure he knows more than I do.
Im going from what Jerry Dickey and another gentleman (very respected for knowledge) said at the artifact show.
I could be wrong but I believe the professor from Memphis said the same.
The biggest difference I see between mine and Cobbs is that steep bevel.

Im thinking its not a preform due to the smaller edge flaking work not commonly seen on preforms.
 
And for the record, all the well-knowledgeable people that looked at these agree they are somewhat different, but did agree that Lerma was the closest "known type" to classify them to.

I ask about making points once ..

Im sure there are several members that would like to see anything he has.
As long as he says which are modern then nobody has means to judge imo.
Ive seen some modern pieces made from some materials that are stunning. Some truly beautiful pieces.
Its been well documented that our native friends loved colors as well.
