Has anyone seen a relic like this? I found it in my cornfield today. Looked like an odd rock until I turned it and saw the face. Looks like Lincoln. It is soft and appears to be cast from lead.

Is it heavy enough to be lead?

I've seen cast figurines made of zinc and similar metals....

but never in a cornfield! Cool find it would be neat if you could turn up more parts of it.

It's my understanding that lead was a commonly used metal in earlier years for various items.

Can't really tell from the photo but it looks like it may have been hollow. Just a thought...but there were a lot of small Lincoln bust coin banks made early and mid last century. Some out of pewter.
