Dover Inn is no longer taking reservations for quota hunts and Paris Landing Inn is closed. Got lucky and found a cabin on KY lake. I guess it is a hassle, people making reservations then canceling at the last minute.

Good to know, thanks for sharing. No longer taking reservations period, or just for the quota hunt dates?

Probably so.
 
I won't worry about any reservations for LBL quota hunts until they do something to improve the hunting. That place is dead to me
 
I really doubt most will have any trouble finding lodging during the LBL quota hunts,
especially if you're willing to stay around Paris Landing instead of Dover.
Paris Landing is about as close to some LBL units as anywhere around Dover.

Make your reservation a week in advance.

Fishtale Lodge near Paris Landing is a good option.
Also, I believe the Paris Landing State Park Hotel will be open.

Although it costs you an extra 15 minutes or so past the Paris Landing area,
there are numerous motels in Paris, as well as a lot more restaurant options.

I suspect the Dover Inn WILL take your November reservation (months in advance)
if you're willing to leave a non-refundable deposit.

If I were looking for a place to stay, I'd strongly consider either camping or getting a cabin at Piney Campground INSIDE LBL.
The Dover Inn also has a few cabins for rent right behind their "Inn".

I usually don't have any trouble getting on a good deer at LBL, but I agree it isn't as good as it used to be. I don't mind camping but my hunting partner is a wuss. LOL...

HA...camping was all we did - that was the best part.
 
This was my first year putting in. I don't expect to get drawn. If they have openings I will camp. Got 0 degree sleeping bags if it is cool.

The computer checks each hunter's record and determines prior
preference points. For deer hunts, the database is searched for
three prior years, which means the maximum preference points for
deer hunts is 3. For turkey hunts, two prior years are searched,
which means the maximum preference points for turkey hunts is 2.
The computer then calculates the average points per group
The maximum points you can have for the deer quota hunts is three..............

Piney Campground is nice. I stayed there on a quota hunt a couple years ago. Very clean and the people that run it are friendly as well. I would definitely recommend.
 
I've done 3 deer hunts at LBL and stayed at Piney each time. The first trip I slept in my truck for 4 nights. Won't do that again. The last two trips, I stayed in one of the cabins. It's plenty adequate for what I needed out of it.
 
I'll be staying at Dover inn. We have been drawed every other year since 09 so if that pattern continues we knew we would get picked this year and made plains real early to get a room.

Have stayed at piney on quota hunts & bow hunts its decent.
