Who all is expecting to get drawn this year? Probably be one more year before we get drawn. Even though I put no preference on hunt area. We might get lucky to land a area. Should know Wednesday.

hunting has never been better in my opinion. Best in Tennesssee, I would go there before President's Island if given an option to go to PI.

This is only my second year of putting in. Anybody have any idea on how long it usually takes to get drawn?

Usually it requires 2 points John. My grandfather and I had 1 going into this year and I suspect we will not draw, of course it could change and depending on the area you applied for could differ a little.

Holler at me if you ever want to bowhunt up there, I have spent a lot of time hiking there (recently this past weekend) and thought about bowhunting it again. It has been a few years since I hunted it, but I still know the area.

Thanks TC. I would definitely like the opportunity bowhunt there. I am very unfamiliar with the land though.

mature bucks pre acre, LBL isn't close.I like hunting LBL, but lets be truthful. Thousands of acres on the Ky. line should have a few big deer, but look at the numbers that hunt it versus number of big deer killed. Like anywhere else, hunting a needle in a haystack.Best chance at a trophy would be with a bow after the gun hunts are over.

I have a chance of getting drawn this year. Fingers crossed.... Either way, I'll be up there about the whole month of November this year with a bow in my hand. :)

IMO "big bucks" are not killed at LBL because they are not hunted. If your walking a ridge top and see a deer at the bottom or on the other side you think twice about shooting it, now factor in the number of hunters that think that way about walking in from their truck. This leaves a lot of land that is not hunted and what is headed is typically hunted by hunters that only consistently hunt it every other year for a few days. No way to get to know an area hunting like that.

I draw every 2 yrs/// i have hunted 11 last 2 times i have drawed.. i sit on a saddle and can see cars going behind me..i see does and bucks every time..last season i had a nice one chase a doe over the ridge before i could get my gun up

I should draw this year. I have 3 points and put in as a party with 2 other guys that have 2 points apiece. I will be there bowhunting some in November also.

Not even remotely comparable in my opinion and I would hunt LBL way before President's Island as it is currently being hunted. No way should anyone have to let 150" (actually even 140") or better buck walk, while bowhunting is wrong. I know of places where people pay thousands of dollars to kill that type of 8 pointer. Not bashing, just stating my opinion. Many more good deer are killed a LBL every year than will ever be killed in all the years PI will be open. I have had an opportunity to kill what would be a nice and legal buck at PI on my last 3 gun hunts at LBL, killed one, made a bad shot on a giant, and could not get a clear shot on the 3rd one, I would say that is not bad odds and I get to hunt every 3 years instead of every 10, 15 or 20 years.

any of them, but of course 15 is my favorite. Last time we were drawn, got 13 and never put it down as a choice. I was not happy but hunted. Blew it on what would have been the best buck of my life at 90 yards, all I can say is it happens. Hope to get drawn this year.

It would be nice to be drawn this year but I should be drawn next year . Someone mentioned the way those woods look in Fall and I agree. It's my favorite place to hunt. I've hunted it since is was a teenager and just can't get over the place.

What LBL area do you hunt, Headhunter??

Just noticed the bold type, I promise you I am not one bit scared to kill a doe. Not at LBL on that hunt though, if it was 2 deer, I would but with one deer limit I am only shooting a buck and a good one hopefully.

11, first hunt. I was out there scouting last weekend. Just need to find some time to bowhunt it some before the gun hunt.

I got drawn for 14 is it any good any info would be appreciated. This will be my first time ever. We are excited!
