LBL Hunt

Every 1st week in Feb there's a get together at the LBL for a coyote hunt. I guess this was the 5th year I've attended, it did get cancelled a few years back on account of the ice storm.. I'd guess about 30+ attended and we had a great time. 14+ coyote's that I know of were taken. I was fortunate enough to call one in with one of my open reed calls, and shoot 'r with the AR. Chad was there and called in a Bobcat but didn't get a shot... (cat's are sneaky suckers!) It was a great time and thought I'd share a few pics to let folks what they're missing out on.

This is the first year in a long time I wasn't able to make it. I missed the 04 hunt and the ice storm hunt. Looks like a bunch of killing. 13 killed? How many were missed? Sounds like the dogs were responding.

Actually there were more than 13... couple folks had one hanging from their porch and didn't bring it up for pics.. I'd guess 14-16 total... as far as the misses.. I left mine at home!

A guy has to get out every once in a while! lol This was by far the best lbl hunt I've been to... Not sure if folks technique's are improving or it was just a good year.. I'm always shocked to hear how many get trapped in the sections that allow it (50+) might get better info from someone closer as far as that goes... I forgot to ask the numbers this year... but it let's you know we didn't put a dent in the population.

It's amazing just riding around and getting them to howl. There are alot up there!!! We had an awesome time and next year we are gonna have to get a cabin!!

Yeah I think you loose some of the "experience" by not getting a cabin... they go pretty quick so you have to move fast. About every night there's a gathering around the campfire and the lie's get pretty thick... I'm not the only one talking though!

There are usually folks that have an extra bed or 2... I pretty sure one of the cabins was rented and the guy couldn't make it... it sat empty and he'd made a "help yourself" post on another forum... no charge the whole cabin was free.

Happy to help out with the sound bite DntBrnDPig... I'm planning on making a video one of these days... hard to find time to do everything you want to! I'll try to remember to post it up here when I do.
