LBL draw

So I just got the email I was drawn for LBL. Zone 11, gun, Nov 24-25. Also just found out about a week ago I have family coming in town for Thanksgiving. Anyone hunt this zone around then? Think I can make maybe the Sat evening hunt, and Sunday for sure. Never been out there at all.

We drew zone 15. I have hunted it many years seeing only one shooter and never got a shot. I am giving up a prime weekend on my farm where a 130" or better is a very real possibility. But the commendatory makes it worth it. Or so I keep telling myself.

I got a preference point, but if you get 15, good luck in staying away from the hogs. Dang things are everywhere and about all I saw. tons of hog sign and several of my favorite spots to hunt basically ruined.

I saw a bunch of hog sign in 13 too. Whats the reasoning for not being able to shoot them? And does anybody know where they came from? Strange you don't hear about them much in the surrounding area.

Good luck, that is where I found the most hog sign. Saw plenty of hogs to.

Ruger, at the check station they told me it is not legal to shoot them. Then one of the lady officers told me quietly if I did shoot one, to leave it laying.

Not legal, I am not going to shoot one and I have no interest in shooting a hog either.

From what I have been told, if you shoot a hog out of a group (and can't or don't kill the whole group) they split up and make more groups, multiplying rapidly. I don't know, just wish they weren't there.

I walked upon a spot that the trails were wore out, what appeared to be a mineral lick (should have known better, hunted that area for years and it has never been there) I mean the trails were mud, and I got excited, climbed a tree only to see nothing but hogs and realized all the "great" deer sign I had found was hog sign and big hog wallow. I had no clue about hog sign and for sure did not realize there are that many on LBL. I went in a completely different direction from that spot twice, at least a mile as the crow flies and there was still plenty of hog sign and even saw more hogs.

Turkey hunting 15 last year and I thought I found a the mother load of deer sign. Turned out to be a interstate of hog trails. I didn't know they were that bad out there until last Spring. It's horrible

I got a priority point. We had Area 15 last year, like the others said hog sign everywhere, seen 7 while hunting.

I'm in 16 on the second hunt this year. As for hogs? Wow. I've been over a fair portion of 13,14,15 and a tiny bit of 16. I've never encountered anything like this. In Cross Creeks areas have been decimated to bare soil where there was once beautiful river bottoms. Hope they get them under control. I know personally I would not pass up a shot at one just like a coyote.
