Layout Blind Setups

So last year I got permission to hunt a little farm with some flooded river bottoms. Even though it's in middle TN, we had some pretty good hunts with two- two man limits in two days. Last year I setup a makeshift ground blind with some river cane and natural vegetation. It was effective enough, but it was a real job.

So this year I am considering a layout blind setup; however, this would be a first for me.

Anyone out there with advice on setup, equipment, etc.

Layout blinds that I have used worked well in certain situations. I like them in fluctuating water level situations...specifically fields that have corn stubble or other natural vegetation like standing beans or coffee bean weed patches. Still need to mud and "brush" the store bought blinds each time you move them chasing the water.

I have made coffin blinds from light plywood to use as stationary blinds, and they work great in certain situations. Just beware, they tend to attract critters in warm spells through the season. Good luck and post pics from your success this year!
