Laurel Hill whistling

Got here earlier this morning than usual, but all the normal spots on Laurel Hill road had vehicles already there so I circled around CC Road. Found a spot with no vehicles around and parked. Spent 20 minutes dressing and prepping at suv then walked in after daylight.

I started hearing some wierd bird calls and finally saw the guy in tree stand about 50 yards away. I was already committed so I just went in opposite direction for 150 yards. He kept whistling so I don't think was happy.

Forgot my millennium tree seat and the ground reminds me how nice that thing is.

Anyway, saw a big bodied deer pushing 3 Does and then 7 does
Paraded by later. I never would have picked this spot, but will remember for the future.

Yourself now. My 3 hours are over and I have to drive baby girl 4 hours back home to cheer in state football playoffs tonight.

I may head to the KY line for morning.

when you hunt public like I do it's hard not to piss somebody off. During late archery I pulled to a spot ive hunted many times over the years. No other trucks anywhere. So I got to walking in with a thicket on my right. I jump a couple deer so I'm down on one knee waiting to see if I can see exactly what they were and where they went. I start creeping ever so slowly make it about 60 yards and I hear hey how's it going. I'm looking all over the place. Finally see a guy up in the tree. I said sorry man no vehicles out here or I wouldn't have even came in here. He said don't worry about 2 bucks just popped out of that thicket and I shot one of them he's laying over there. And apparently he got dropped off he said. I said well good job and that's just my luck.
