Laughable Deer Hunting Weather

Yeah, when I saw the forecast for this morning versus the rest of the week, I basically insisted to my wife that I was going this morning for a while. I'll be unable to hunt the rest of the weekend and the following weekend is looking questionable.

I had a pretty good morning. Saw 2 does and 2 smaller bucks in 3 hours. No shot at the does, but it was still exciting. The whole time I kept thinking "enjoy this weather, because it's about to get nasty".

Hope you can salvage some fun out of the crappy conditions.

Yall done any good? I have seen deer throughout this bad weather, keeps me going back knowing there's only a few days left and the deer still do move around some.

It's weird being in a tree with my early season clothes on. I even brought my bow with me so it really feels like bow season!

Decided to hit up Priest since we aren't seeing anything on our place. Had 4 turkeys come by right after I got situated.

I just stayed at home and played basketball with the kids, in shorts.
I have plenty time in the next few days once the cool weather comes in, I'll thin some doe out.

I was out this morning: 68 degrees and strong winds coming from every direction.
It is very rare that I don't see deer on this property, but this morning was one of those days. Headed back t the house after a couple of hours.
Pouring rain now. Just great.

I don't know- I went out at 11:30am cause the moon time was like 12-2pm. Sat for 45 minutes and then the deer came popping out. Tagged out at 12:58pm. 5th deer I've killed this year at midday when the moon said it was time. He was with a small doe- seen 4 others.
Hoping this cool spell will bring a great end to the year!

nearly stepped on a cottomouth on sunday the 27th, scared me!

A news report said there is so much water that it is forcing them out of their burrows.
Maybe this weekend the freeze will kill them

I hunted Sunday morning. Nearly got blown out of my shooting house by the strong hot South wind. :) Saw nothing but bugs and ducks. Heard lots of quacks and frog croaks. Going again tomorrow morning. Got about 40 acres under water. There is so much water standing that it has to significantly affect deer travel paths. Lots of places where a deer could expire that would now be a real problem to get into to recover it with all this water and mud. Looking like deer season is going to exit with a whimper around my place. Ruger picked a great year to get serious about duck hunting. This reminds me of 2004 when it rained and a warm wind blew every time i tried to hunt.
