Late breeding !

Caught this fella in action out my bathroom window 5/18 and also seen 10 poults out the same window today , wild how far the gap is between poults at times! Puts poults from this breeding around July 4th!

Totally normal behavior. Renesting hens are breeding actively right now (and quite a few lost 1st nest due to hay season), PLUS the jennies are just now breeding for their first time. Thats why its SO important to ensure you dont kill all your toms during season.

Ive only heard it 4 or 5 times ever, but I actually got to hear the 'squealing hen' sound Monday at 35 yards watching a tom breed a hen. When she did that, every gobbler within earshot went nuts gobbling.

I can GUARANTEE you this wasnt the 1st time that hen has been bred this year. Her nest likely got busted up and she is willing to try again.

How could you guarantee?

The bell shaped curve pattern has been demonstrated in TN adult turkeys for breeding timing. While the peak is around April 10 to 12, there are a handful that breed for the first time in early March, and a handful that breed for the first time in early June.

But it is most likely ongoing breeding is renesting adults or initial breeding from jennies.

Latest I've seen poults hatch was August 10 on my properties

Yes, HS came out with them years ago. Most folks including me made fun of it as a gimmick... until I heard it for the first time from a real hen.

They haven't been made in years, but you can basically replicate the sound as a more frantic high pitched broken note whine on a mouth call.
