I love cold weather but I was a little underdressed and wet this morning. Few more degrees less and I would be making snowballs. Back at the truck to wait out the downpour. Haven't heard a peep. Anyone having any success in the rain today?

I called up 2 jakes who came in silent yest eve before the rain on my private lease.Just a single cluck behind me at 10 yards 15 min after my last call. I got so excited, I almost leveled the lead bird but realized it was a jake. He was easing off when I heard the 2nd bird cluck behind him in some nasty thick stuff. What the heck I thought, and just stood up and walked to him until I could ID him as he turned to run..

I got to a WMA here in south MS this morning a few minutes after the rain stopped. Figured something would pop off while still in the tree after fluffing out, but haven't heard a peep. Gnats are TERRIBLE down here. Keep flying into my eyes and ears, hard to stay still.

Been over a month since I've heard a gobble down here. Would at least like to hear 1 more before season ends May 1st
