My second and last planting attempt will happen before or on Monday. There's only a 30% chance of rain for our area, but I'm going to drag the fields and try to cover the seed a bit more than usual to protect it from the feathered rats. I know it can last for weeks out there if it's not eaten. We've been there before.

Do the rain dance, boys. This ride's coming to a close.

Exactly right. But after this I'm booked until the end of October. It's now or never. I've had seed sit in a disked field for 3 weeks without rain and then come up fine. I'm counting on that to happen again. It's a risk, but there's a chance.

I replanted and packed my food plot. There's now about 50 lbs of seed in a 1/8 acree plot. If this dont' grow, I'm giving up for the season.

Can't gorw if there aint' no rain. I don't care how balnced the soil is
A couple hundred bucks down the drain :(

Chances for rain are looking better for our farm this coming week. I held off after the 40% faded into nothing. Now there are a few days worth of rain in the forecast next week. I'll be planting this weekend if everything stays the same.

CL, I hear ya man. I have done the same thing except to over 6 acres! I pray we will get some rain next week. If we were to have high winds with the way my plots are right now.... someone else might get em because soil and everything would blow away.

I am thinking we may get lucky this time. Good luck and at least it won't be as hot doing it this time though the dust will get cha.
