Ok tonight I was able to hunt a buddies piece of land. This will be the last time I am able to hunt this season due to work. Any way at 430 a decent but smallish 8 pt walks within 25 yards of my stand and feeds for approximately half an hour... no shot available due to thick cover. Then he walks straight at me and feeds under my stand for another 3-4 minutes occasionally looking around and somewhat up at me. finally he walked straight away from me and back into the thicket and out of sight. My question is due to shot angles, (straight at me and straight away or directly under me) was I being to picky to not take a shot? (Bowhunting) Just looking for some input and good luck to the rest of you this year!

No I believe anytime you decide to not pull the trigger, no matter what the reason , it is the right decision . I think that says that you are a very ethical and smart hunter for not taking a shot you didn't feel comfortable taking . Even with it being your last time in the woods . Hopefully you will make up for it next year !

Congratulations on having the discipline to not take a shot you were not comfortable with even if it meant the deer walking off! That was certainly the ethical way to handle the deal.

I commend you for not taking a shot you're comfortable with but you really ought to practice those straight down shots. I don't like taking them but in some cases that's all you get. I practice and every straight down shot I've taken has piled a deer up.
