Killed this buck 11/21/16 around 4:30. He was in a thicket with a doe I think he was breeding her luckily 2 young bucks decided to investigate as soon as they stepped in the thicket he charged them they both almost fell down trying to escape, but he turned around and went back to the doe before i could get a shot. At this point I knew I wasn't going to get another shot at him, but the young bucks hung around the area and eventually tried to enter the thicket again this time I was ready to take quick shot. Just like the first time as soon as they entered the thicket he charged them, this time he chased them a little farther, still not offering a shot as he was behind a tree almost the entire time. I knew it was now or never I couldn't see him until he was almost back in the thicket, I waited for him to turn slightly giving me a hard quartering away shot. I tried to place the bullet at the back of the rib cage, but I hit him in the hip. I quickly reloaded and didn't wait a second to pursue him, I couldn't find his blood trail but heard him crashing through the woods when I caught up to him he was standing on his front legs but couldn't walk so I put another one in him as soon I could ending one of my most memorable hunts ever. he's the largest buck I've ever killed as well as my longest shot at around 110 yards.
