Went with bigasports to some public land early this morning. Couldn't ask for a better hunt. Gobbled his fool head off. There were more than one gobbler, this was the boss. He put on a show. I goofed up the video at the moment of truth, but Adrian put a good shot on him, and that's what counts.

No fishing today brother. Would have been nice!!

Ole Catman had a nice spot for us to get on some birds today. It was a really fun hunt!! Birds gobbled from 5:15 till death at 7:30ish. Lots of strutting action to boot. Couldn't have asked for much more.

Congrats to you both on a good bird and great finish to the season. As we've always said, May equals old birds (as in mature), which is shown with those spurs. Thanks for sharing.

Yep there just aren't as many hens to go around. He was dang fired up too.

Another great hunt, congrats!!!! One of these days, I'd love to trade one of your hunts camping on the banks of the lake and hunting the next morning with one of my hunts on my farm sleeping in a nice bed and hunting field birds and covering a ton of ground. I'm assuming this was the bird you had gobbling to you the last day you were hunting on the lake before #4 came rushing in (your last video adventure you posted)?

Nope we were on a different ridge. I actually tried to work a bird on that finger where Adrian shot his bird, back during the 2nd week of season, but when I got to the top, I walked up on 3 toms and blew my chance. I had climbed that ridge at least 2 or 3 times during the season and when we heard those birds on roost, I knew where to go

lol no kidding, I thought for sure he would be able to see it. Shows what difference 2 feet can make as far as what you see in the woods.

I was getting a bit frustrated actually. I couldn't get eyes on either bird. Ole Catman kept saying he's in full strut and he's left of this tree & that tree. Then, the 2nd tom shows up and Catman is basically saying shoot him you big dummy!!! LOL!!!! He couldn't get why I couldn't see him. The only thing I could see was the occasional tail fan of the strutter. I caught a glimpse of the 2nd bird just as his head went below the crest of the holler. When I shot the strutter I had a small window but that was the most of his head and neck I had seen. It's crazy what a different view you can have 3 feet away from someone. It's made me realize when watching some of Cat's videos the camera view and your own sight view can be very different.
