lake weiss/ Guntersville info please

going down to AL next week to do some fishing can you guys give me some tips on crappie at weiss and bass on guntersville in the gosepond area....any help is greatly appreciated

I have done well at Guntersville in Rosebury , North Sauty and South Sauty creeks . I have never fished Weiss .

Forget Weiss this week. We just got back yesterday. Weiss is as brown as chocolate milk, 43degrees (dropped from 50), and the wind was above 20 yesterday. Sundays wind (35-40) made the lake look like Tampa Bay.

None of the guides at JR's went out Sunday or Monday. We had booked Mark Collins for Monday. He said it would take 4-5 days before the lake was fishable. He said this weather was going to cost him $1500+.

When the lake gets back to normal, try Bay Springs, Chuchhouse, Little Nose, and Big Nose. That's where everyone was fishing Saturday.

Guntersville ought to be ON by early next week.

I've spent alot of time on Guntersville since January. It's quiet possible Guntersville is fishing as good as it's fished in it's existence. Maybe not, but definitely since I started fishing it 10 years ago. The fishing pressure is incredible, but they just seem to get bigger and bigger. Right now they are still catching them on traps in 2-5 ft of water. Most of the better fish we caught on Saturday was on 1/4 oz traps. However, if you can work a crankbait through the grass, that is what will give you your better bites. Find the greenest hydrilla you can find and it's game on. I caught a couple on a jig, but if your tournament fishing, it will cost you some casts.

33 lbs won the co-angler side of the BFL on Saturday. No, that was not a misprint.

I saw that stringer in the results. Looks like he weighed in more than the guy who won the boater division.
