We go every year.We stay at a place in the middle area of the lake called little mtn. lodge.$65 a night but clean and private.You can fish the center part of the lake or head any direction from it.We go on April 1ST.
BOAT slips,parking,ramp,food.no gas or fishing license though.
 
I live less than a mile from the Big G. Some of the biggest bass of the year are caught in Jan and Feb. Spring and Fall are good for numbers and you might catch a 10 pounder on any day.
 
We go 3 or 4 times a yr. March is good for biig traps, and May is good for top water. June top water, and deep fish also, as well as the shallower grass beds. I like it anytime I get a chance to go there !

That time of year, rats and frogs over matted grass are good. The grass absorbs heat from the sun and thee fish will be buried up in it. Also, don't overlook shallow fish. Dragging a jig in extremely shallow water can be good too as it is warmer here than in deeper water. A few weeks later, traps and jerk baits start to shine.
