Lake Graham

I dont have my boat here at school, and i have been trying to find some good bass ponds and lakes near Jackson.

I went to Lake Graham once last year and only caught one, but we fished for about 3 hours, me and a buddy.

Anybody got any tips or reports for this lake?

I've always caught a bunch of fish beginning about the second or third week of March and continuing thru May. There has been a huge population of threadfin shad, and you need to watch for them on the surface(usually in coves on calm days). When you see them, the bass are usually bustin' em.

Hey Kevin, I fish Graham quite a bit. Mostly for Bass.

If you will put in at the Store ramp head straight east. Follow that east bank all the way back to the 2 islands. (we usually fish the entire bank). When you get to the islands veer to the left and then work your way back towards the bank.

Stumps are everywhere. Once you get past the islands and worked back to the bank keep going up the bank but put your back to the bank and cast out into the stumps.

I like a Bandit 100 series in chartreuse. The best water right now is around 4-5 feet.

Thanks for the information, i knew you could rent a boat and row, but i didnt know you could get a trolling motor too. I go to union university, i also play baseball there, which makes it hard to fish alot. Because sunday is our only day off.

But today i Caught 5 in a little neighborhood pond, from 11:12am-11:47.

Stringer of 5, smallest was about 4

Deerlawyer, There are some big Crappie caught there, however not the numbers you would hope for.

The only people I have seen with crappie are some guys that fish the lake alot. But never seen more than a few fish.

LOL However, my point was that my first impression was that here is a lad from out of town who is looking for a place to fish. And he is, which is great. But then in the next breath he casually mentions that he caught a string of very fine fish in the bat of an eye, in a pond, obviously pretty close to the campus(neighborhood)! Hey, we ought to be asking him where to fish, not the other way around. LOL

Lol I was trying to figure out where that was comin from, It is literally right across from union, in a nieghborhood right behind the chevy lot.

I went back that afternoon with a few teammates, caught 3 in about 15 minutes, biggest was about 2lbs. But then we got kicked out, private neighborhood pond it turns out! :( Really big bummer. Im gonna post that stringer right now.

Hey Kevin, don't know where you're from, but in this neck of the woods, you have to have permission to fish a private pond(which we of course assumed that you did!) lol
So now back to Lake Graham, which is obviously public. However, you have to have a Tennessee fishing license and a TWRA lake permit. The last bit of info is pretty basic, but maybe I shouldn't assume too much? lol

Oh I have fished in that pond before. I did have permission though. It is a pretty good pond. I had several days where I would catch 5 or 6 over 5 pounds. It was a nice little hole to go to every now and then. It is dead in the middle of a neighborhood and you are pretty much fishing in people's backyard.
