ladder stand extensions

I used pressure treated 2x4s and made an extension. Drilled and bolted that to the original ladder.
 
I'd be very careful doing that. Those stands are designed to save as much steel, and therefore cost, as possible. They are built with a safety factor, which may be negated when an extension is added. Unless the company advertises their stand as being able to take an extension, I'd not do it.

We've done it to some of the older big game stands that had the double uprights. Used extra bracing and no issues. Never done it with the cheaper metal 15' stands.
